Flat Roofs/ Mono pitched roofs

With the current rise in cost of construction materials in Nigeria,it is the right time to start looking for cheaper yet equally conducive construction methodologies. One of the ways to cut costs of materials is by carefully selecting the type of roof you want to put on your building carcass (ie gable, pitched, flat, mono pitched etc)

Flat roofs or Mono pitched roofs are not new to the construction industry but engineers and builders are sometimes skeptical about use.

A flat roof is a type of roof that is inclined at an angle of 10 degrees or below. A mono pitched roof just as it sounds,is a type of roof that is only pitched at one side ( it is only sloped at one side)

Both flat roofs and mono pitched roofs are good ways to reduce the cost of materials. Aside from the obvious benefits of cost and quantity reduction, flat roofs are quicker to install so that makes the labour cost to be cheaper. Flat roofs also add a modern look to the building and add to the aesthetics.

These are some of the reasons why you should consider Flat/ mono pitched roofs in your next project.

As we all know, most construction methodologies comes with advantages and disadvantages, flat roofs are sometimes prone to leakages if not properly installed and they have very little space for insulation but as i always say, CONSULT A BUILDER before you make these decisions.

Would you consider having a flat/mono pitched roof?😁
